  1. Try off road and trials riding for FREE at Motorcycle Live 2013

    Motorcycle Live 2013 is the perfect opportunity for bike fans to broaden their two-wheel horizons and try out new motorcycling disciplines in the form of the Yamaha Off Road Experience and the ACU Try Trials feature.

    The Yamaha Off Road Experience is back for 2013, offering bikers* the chance to swap the tarmac for the dirt with a FREE 20-minute taster session on a specially designed indoor motocross circuit. Catering for all levels of riding experience (basic clutch control is required), chief instructor Barry Johnson (a former Motocross Grand Prix Rider and current Auto Cycle Union Instructor) and his team will guide participants through the techniques needed, making sure it is an experience to remember.

    Also making a return to Motorcycle Live is the ever-popular ACU Try Trials feature, which in conjunction with BUMPY (Birstall Urban Motorcycle Project for Youth) will be offering visitors** the chance to try out the impressive sport of trials in a FREE 15-minute taster session. Participants will receive direction and guidance from an ACU-certified instructor to get to grips with the basics of this highly-skilled discipline. Trials riding demonstrations by the ACU coaches will also take place daily with times to be confirmed.

    The Yamaha Off Road Experience and the ACU Try Trials feature are operated on a first come, first served basis with bookings only being taken on the day. All safety equipment will be provided.

    Motorcycle Live 2013 promises to offer everything that visitors have come to expect and more. Every major manufacturer will be present, showcasing the 2014 model launches in the UK for the first time, while 17 FREE live features and zones – including nine opportunities to ride a bike – will keep motorcycle fans of all ages entertained.

  2. Normous Newark Autojumble‏

    The next Normous Newark Autojumble is now just days away, taking place this Sunday, October 6, at Newark Showground.

    As ever, a large number of visitors are expected from across the UK and beyond. We are especially looking forward to welcoming Lincoln Harley-Davidson to our latest event, who will be bringing with them "parts, accessories and 'MotorClothes'".

    Visitors

    Early bird admission is from 8am and costs £10, giving visitors a chance to get first access to the wealth of jumble stands on site. General admission (10am onwards) costs £6.

    Outside Traders

    No booking is required for outside trading, just arrive at the showground from 6.45am and your 6ft frontage x 30ft depth plot will be allocated. An outside plot costs £20 and allows entry for one person. Additional entry passes cost £7. (A pre-booked outdoor plots costs £18)

    Inside Traders

    Inside trade plots, 6ft frontage x 6ft depth, are available and cost £18 (which must be paid on booking). Tables are also available for hire, costing £4.50. An inside plot allows entry for one person. Additional entry passes cost £7.

  3. New 'Rookie Ride' makes 17 FREE features at Motorcycle Live

    Motorcycle Live 2013 just got even bigger with the addition of yet another live feature – the Silverstone Rookie Ride – taking the tally of interactive activities at the show to 17, including nine FREE opportunities to ride.

    The Silverstone Rookie Ride* is an initiative launched by the Northamptonshire race circuit to introduce young people to motorcycling. Aimed at those aged 11 and up, the feature will offer FREE 20-minute indoor taster sessions on a Yamaha Jog RR scooter. Participants will be provided with Alpinestars protective clothing and will be taught the basics of machine familiarisation and how to pull away and stop safely, before progressing to slow speed manoeuvring skills.  

    The scooters are fitted with kill switches and all training takes places under the watchful eye of expert instructors. As well as a learning new skills and an awareness of other road users, all attendees will take away a Silverstone lanyard and ‘Rookie Ride’ card.  

    The Silverstone Rookie Ride completes a range of live features aimed at introducing children and young adults to life on two wheels. With the Kiddimoto Children’s Fun Track, Honda My First Licence, the Red Bull Pro National Children’s Off-Road experience, Try a Kuberg – Children’s Electric Motorcycle and now the Silverstone Rookie Ride, youngsters from the age of two to late teens can enjoy a two-wheeled experience at Motorcycle Live.

  4. Motorcycle Live is back!

    Motorcycle Live is back at The NEC, Birmingham from 23 November to 1 December 2013 and tickets are on sale now!

    The show boasts no less than 29 manufacturers, all showcasing the very latest machinery, some of which will have never been seen before in the UK. From sports bikes to scooters, tourers to trikes, cruisers to customs and adventure to motocross machines, there is something on display at Motorcycle Live to suit every rider. Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Piaggio, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Vespa, Victory and Yamaha, as well as UK-based firms CCM, Norton and Triumph – will all be present.

    Specialist brands such as AJP, Metisse, Morgan, Moto Guzzi, Watsonian Squire, WK Bikes, Quadzilla and electric motorcycle marques Kuberg and Zero will all appear, while Herald Motor Company, Indian Motorcycles, Lifan and ShineRay will make their Motorcycle Live debut.   5. FREE two-wheels tasters and test rides at Motorcycle Live

    Motorcycle Live 2013 is not just for seasoned bikers. Anyone thinking about getting on two wheels for the first time or coming back to motorcycling after time away can take advantage of a FREE taster session with the Get On experience – and there’s good news for younger riders too, as it is now open to anyone aged 15 and over. 

    Participants in Get On* – which is an industry-backed nationwide campaign encouraging non-riders to enjoy the benefits of life on two wheels – will receive expert tuition on either a scooter or a 125cc motorcycle in a specially constructed private area.     For those visitors already immersed in life on two wheels, the Test Ride Zone will make a welcome return to Motorcycle Live thanks to Shoei, Sidi and Spada, and a great line up of bikes from leading manufacturers. Accompanied by out-riders, visitors get a real feel for their chosen bike and then have the chance to visit the manufacturer stand with any questions they may have.

    Along with a FREE ride, all the safety equipment is provided, so visitors travelling to the show by train or car are still able ride. An experienced Shoei, Sidi and Spada product technician will be on hand to ensure all kit fits correctly. Bikes available to ride will be confirmed nearer the show.
