  1. - Leading UK stand up comedian to perform in heart of the TT Races Paddock on Tuesday 5th June

Ross Noble, one of the UK’s most popular stand-up comedians, will be performing an early preview of his new El Hablador show at this year’s Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy on Tuesday 5th June.  The show, which Ross will be touring in the UK between September and December includes an appearance at the London Paladium, is Ross’s 16th touring show

His stand up routine features large segments of improvisation as well as what has been described as a ‘randomist’ style that sees the irrepressible Geordie bounce around heckles and conversations with the audience, impromptu and surreal observations as well as a stream of subconscious thought. His new show has been described as ‘a wild ride through his imagination’.

Ross, who was voted one of the top 10 greatest stand ups of all time by Channel 4 viewers has made numerous appearances on mainstream television including shows such as Have I got News for You and QI and regularly tours major UK stadium venues. He was recently nominated for the prestigious Lawrence Olivier Award for his performance in Mel Brookes’s Monster Hit musical ‘Young Frankenstein’ in London’s West End.

His TT appearance will be in the Official Hospitality Unit in the heart of the TT Paddock. The venue is undoubtedly more intimate than many of the popular stand up comedians’ appearances to date with tickets limited to five hundred for the show.

The comedian is well known as a bike fan and has made previous visits to the Island to spectate at the TT. He also recently had a three part motorcycle TV series ‘Ross Noble: Off Road’ which was screened on Dave in December 2017.

Speaking about his TT appearance Ross said:

“What a stroke of luck! A show during this year’s TT for TT fans right at the heart of the event.  There’s work and there’s play and sometimes the lines get a little blurred. I can’t imagine anywhere in the world I’d rather be in June than the Isle of Man and I’m really looking forward to putting on a show and maybe finding a place on the hedge to watch some racing from as well.”

On what to expect from his new show, Ross Noble said:

“Expect the unexpected. Unless you’ve seen me before. Then you know what to expect. But I might not do that. But then again, I might. I expect it will be one of those two options.”

Tickets for Ross Noble’s performance on the Isle of Man go on sale at 0900hrs on Monday 14th May via iomtt.com or by calling 00 44 (0) 1624 640011. Tickets are priced at £35.00

  2. The British Motor Museum is to host a new exhibition featuring cars from National Geographic’s popular motoring TV show Car S.O.S. The heart-warming car make-over programme airs on National Geographic. Now in its 6th series, the show’s presenters Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw have brought 60 cars back from rusty wrecks to their former glory; everything from family classics to hot hatches and elegant sports cars.

The exhibition will feature 7 cars that have been rebuilt by the Car S.O.S team including 3 still shining from restoration in the most recent series. On display will be a pre-war Austin ‘Tilly’ truck which underwent a sympathetic overhaul, a vibrant yellow Lancia Delta Integrale with a touching back story and a rare AC Aceca sports car along with four others an MGA, Volvo P1800, Aston Martin DB6 and a Ford Capri RS3100.

Graphics and clips from the relevant episodes will run alongside each of the cars detailing the many technical dilemmas Tim and Fuzz had to get the cars back to their best. They will also give an insight into some of the personal stories and challenges faced by each of the cars' owners.

Hamish Mykura, EVP Programming & Development, National Geographic, commented: “We are delighted to be hosting the Car S.O.S exhibition at the British Motor Museum. One of the most popular programmes on National Geographic, Car S.O.S is the car restoration show with real heart.  Visitors to the museum will not only get to see stunning classic cars featured in the series in all their glory, but discover the heart-warming stories behind the make-overs and the seemingly impossible mechanical challenges faced by the team.”

  3. Suzuki is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Motorfinity, it will continue to support the UK’s armed forces, veterans, NHS and emergency services personnel in 2018, offering up to £500 worth of genuine accessories or merchandise when purchasing a new model from its on-road range.

To claim their discount – which runs in conjunction with any other Suzuki or dealership offer, including the current low-rate finance campaign that allows customer to choose from a two, three, or four-year deal and an APR to match – members of the emergency services or armed forces simply need to present their Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service Card to their chosen dealership at the point of sale.

Suzuki will offer a discount based on a model’s capacity, giving £250 worth of free accessories or merchandise away with bikes up to 250cc, £350 up to 650cc models, or £500 with bikes over 650cc.

Those that qualify for the offer include serving and former police officers and staff, fire and rescue personnel, and NHS staff and ambulance personnel, as well as those working in the prison service. Serving and veteran armed forces personnel along with reserve forces, spouses and partners of serving members, MoD civil servants, NATO, and Cadets over 16 years of age also qualify.

Ian King, Suzuki GB business development manager, said, “Every day our armed force and members of our emergency services put the lives and wellbeing of others ahead of their own, so it’s only right that we offer these brave men and women a reward when they choose to buy a new Suzuki. Many members of both the emergency services and armed forces are motorcycle riders, and hopefully this offer shows our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.”
