    Posted on

On Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 September the British Motor Museum will host over 300 trucks at the Retro Truck Show. Modern and classic trucks will once again descend on Gaydon for this popular show - one of the largest truck shows in the calendar! Now in its 15th year, the show features some of the best trucks produced between 1971 and 2001, making for a nostalgic and family-friendly event.

Enthusiasts can see an array of powerful vehicles from some of the biggest names in trucking, including Volvo, Scania, DAF, Foden and ERF trucks. Trucks from across Europe, notably France, the Netherlands and Belgium, will also be present, giving a continental flavour to the impressive display!

All trucks built between 1971 to 2001 are welcome to attend, at a cost of just £30 to exhibit a vehicle. The Retro Truck Show provides a fantastic opportunity for truck fans to get together and admire the displays. Visitors also have the option to camp in the Museum’s grounds on the Friday and Saturday nights for just £26 per pitch per night for two adults, and vehicle exhibitors can camp in their vehicle for free! For truck owners, this annual weekend makes for the perfect trucking holiday and the chance to catch up with friends and like-minded truck enthusiasts. There will also be an Indoor Model Show and trade area with a range of photos, models, and brochures.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum, said, “This show is one of our most popular and a great weekend out for owners, drivers, enthusiasts, and the public. It’s a wonderful spectacle to see the trucks lined up in rows and a fantastic opportunity to admire them up close!”

Burgers and ice creams will be available to purchase outside, and hot meals, sweet treats and refreshments can be found in the Museum’s Junction 12 Café. Visitors can also enjoy exploring the Museum and Collections Centre as entry is included with the show ticket. Camping is available on the Friday and Saturday nights for an additional charge.

Advance tickets for each day cost £17 for adults, £9 for children, £15 for concessions and £46 for a family of 4. Plus, visitors can convert their ticket to an Annual Pass at no extra cost! Sunday is the busier day with more trucks on display.

    Staffordshire County Showground, ST18 0BD - Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12, 2025

Two big motorcycling icons have been confirmed for the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, sponsored by Carole Nash, this October 11–12, 2025! Taking place at the Staffordshire County Showground, the show will welcome two legends of the sport – Wayne Gardner and Roger Marshall.

1987 World Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion, Wayne Gardner, has been confirmed as guest of honour. Gardner began his racing journey on a five-dollar dirt bike and quickly rose through the ranks, making his 500cc debut in 1983. Remaining loyal to Honda, the Aussie star achieved major success with Honda Britain, winning his first Grand Prix in 1986. He went on to beat legends Eddie Lawson and Randy Mamola to claim the 1987 World Championship title.

Joining him on stage will be no other than Gardner’s best friend, multiple British champion and former Grand Prix rider, Roger Marshall. With 11 British Championship titles to his name, Marshall rose to fame during the 1970s and '80s. He finished runner-up to Joey Dunlop in the 1984 F1 World Championship, claimed podium finishes at the Isle of Man TT, and was a formidable force in Grand Prix racing.

See these racing icons and good friends live on stage throughout the weekend, as Jack Burnicle dives into their incredible careers.

And that’s not all! The show will also host top club stands from across the UK and will be packed with stunning machines from across the decades - some of which will roar back to life in the legendary GP Paddock. Explore everything you could possibly need for your motorcycling hobby across our huge trade areas and autojumble stands. Plus, enjoy live music, a fully stocked bar, and much more.

  3. Adventure Country Tracks e.V. celebrates third ACT Camp with great participation and strong community spirit

    Posted on

From July 17th to 20th, the grounds of MSC Kleinhau once again turned into a haven for two-wheeled adventurers. For the third time, the ACT Camp took place – and with around 200 enthusiastic participants, it became the biggest and most emotional edition to date.

    A Weekend to Remember

The camp offered everything an adventure rider could wish for: ideal riding conditions, perfect summer weather, tons of off-road action – and above all, a community unlike any other. From the very beginning, a warm and open atmosphere filled the air. Laughter, shared experiences, mutual support – everywhere you looked, people were connecting. On the trails, around the campfire, or during the evening sessions – ACT Camp 2025 was a place for like-minded people, celebrating not only adventure, but true camaraderie.

Riding Skills, Training & Trail Confidence

On the motocross track, both beginners and experienced riders could push their limits. They were supported by five professional trainers from the Endurocenter Mammutpark, who offered hands-on training, boosted confidence, and guided laps on the prepared terrain.

Those preferring scenic routes could join guided tours through the Eifel region, led by dedicated ACT members – a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the area from the saddle.

A special shout-out goes to the track marshals, who came from the ranks of the participants themselves. Their presence proved vital, especially on the steep exit climb and after the track watering sessions, which added extra challenge to some sections. Their commitment was a true expression of the team spirit that defines the ACT community.

    Contests, Fun & Great Prizes

Classic favorites like the Touratech Slow Motion Contest and Motorcycle Limbo returned, joined this year by two brand-new highlights: the NEXX Helmet Toss and the REV’IT! Agility Course – a fast-paced challenge combining balance, precision, and control.

Riders had the chance to win fantastic prizes, including:
    Two REV’IT! jackets
One pair of Touratech Destino boots
    Nexx X.WED3 helmet
A complete Metzeler tire set of choice

A particularly touching moment was the first-ever Community Award, donated by Garmin, and awarded to the most helpful rider – voted for by the participants themselves. A recognition that perfectly captured the spirit of the weekend: support, community, and genuine kindness.

    Learning & Inspiration

In the large event tent, knowledge and experience took center stage.

    • Jan Jessen (NavAcademy) offered a step-by-step explanation on how to transfer GPX tracks to various navigation devices.
    • Lutz von Steynitz shared valuable insights into Garmin-based offroad navigation.
    • ACT members Uwe and Bernd presented their “Individual First Aid Kits” – an eye-opener for many in the audience.
    • The program was rounded out by inspiring travel talks, including Marc von Papen ("From the Sea to the Mountains – 3 Years, 3 ACTs") and Kai Rohr ("How to Become an Adventure Rider").

    Strong Partners – Strong Community

On the exhibitor mile, long-time ACT supporters TouratechGarminNavAcademy, and Enduro Xperience presented their products and services. Touratech brought three motorcycles equipped with knobby tires and Touratech Suspension, which were tested by eager participants directly on the track.

Meanwhile, the MSC Kleinhau team made sure no one went hungry or thirsty – with their signature hospitality and dedication that has become an integral part of the ACT Camp experience.

Looking Back – And Ahead with Excitement

ACT Camp 2025 will be remembered as a weekend full of positive energy, deep connections, and joyful memories – all without a single significant incident or injury. Happy faces, new friendships, countless shared moments – this camp was special.

The team at ACT e.V. looks back with pride and says a heartfelt thank you:
To all participants, partners, trainers, track marshals, and volunteers.

    And now?
We’re already counting down the days until next year.
ACT Camp 2026 – here we come!

  5. British Motor Museum launches new exhibition ‘Beep Beep, Yeah!’

    Posted on

The British Motor Museum is to launch a brand-new sound-based exhibition ‘Beep-Beep, Yeah!’ which will open on 18 July and run until spring 2026 in the new Rubery Owen Gallery. The centrepiece of this exciting exhibition is a Rolls-Royce once owned by music legend, John Lennon!  British Motor Museum launches new exhibition - John Lennon Rolls-Royce

From the favourite tunes we play when we’re driving, to the songs that were inspired by motoring cities; push button radios to streaming podcasts; the sensation of our favourite engine noises to the quietness of modern cars; sound, music and the motor car have always had an emotional connection. Beep-Beep, Yeah!: The Sounds and Songs of the Motor Car explores this connection from the engine rumble to the rhythm of our favourite tune and examines why the sounds we listen to in our cars can influence the way we drive.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the sound experience through a range of interactive elements such as tuning a 1970s radio, feeling the noise of a BRM V16 P15 race car engine, or sitting inside a 2022 Bentley Bentayga to experience its incredibly powerful audio systems!

The exhibition also features a 2019 Wells Vertige Prototype demonstrating how music shaped an entire design while, on the other end of the scale, is the 2018 Nissan Leaf whose electric motor is so quiet it generates a pedestrian warning sound as a safety feature.

Throughout the exhibition is the connection between cars and music and this link is demonstrated by the star car of the exhibition, a  white 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, once owned by John Lennon! The Rolls-Royce appeared in the Beatles film, Let It Be and was sold in 1969 to Allen Klein, founder of ABKCO Records and the Beatles’ manager at the time. It has remained with the family ever since and has been kindly loaned by Jody Klein.

As a result of the generous support of Rubery Owen, Beep‑Beep, Yeah! will be housed in a brand-new exhibition space which gives visitors the chance to explore more than ever before.

Richard Jenkins, Group CEO, Rubery Owen Holdings, commented “As one of Britain's leading engineering companies and one of the earliest to be involved in the motor industry, Rubery Owen shares the Museum's commitment to preserving the history of Britain's automotive industry — both now and into the future. Rubery Owen is proud to support the creation of a new gallery space at the Museum.”

Cat Boxall, Curator at the British Motor Museum, said “We’re really excited to open an exhibition with a different focus by bringing sound to the forefront in an immersive and interactive way. This has given us a fantastic opportunity to explore our collection from a fresh perspective. When you visit, be sure to think about your favourite driving tunes. Leave your suggestions and scan to take away the playlist which we will be updating throughout the course of the exhibition!”.
