1. FERMÍN IN THE POINTS, ALEX DECIDES NOT TO RACE

   FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54 “Qualifying was definitely the weak point of the day. Starting 11th was not ideal in itself, and considering the start I made, getting into the points was already a good result. The pace was honestly good, especially in the middle part of the race, so looking ahead to Sunday’s race we have to stay positive. We will definitely go with the medium rear tyre, which will give me more stability.” ALEX MÁRQUEZ #73 “It was definitely the best training session of the last few weeks. That said, together with the team we decided that the smartest move was not to take any risks in the race. Often crashes during a race don’t depend only on you, so we preferred to use all the available sessions to check my condition, and I think we are in a good place.    “Honestly, I don’t really have much to say. In the end, the most important thing is that I didn’t get hurt, and I hope no other rider had any issues either. It was a weekend where I felt good and where we definitely could have aimed high, but you also need a bit of luck. Now it’s time to go home and rest.”

   “It was an incredible weekend with a team that welcomed me in a fantastic way. We worked well, had fun, and brought home a great result. Despite the many mistakes during the race, we found excellent feeling with the bike, especially towards the end, and that’s where I really pushed. I wanted to catch my friend Moreira, but it’s fine like this. A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible for me to be here this weekend. It wasn’t a given that we would be this fast.”

3. FERMIN IN TOP4, IKER ALREADY QUICK

   FERMIN ALDEGUER #54 “All things considered, it went well: we still have some margin because today I made a few mistakes here and there. There’s definitely work to do in terms of setup because I need to be able to ride without pushing too hard. It’s a circuit that, physically, doesn’t affect me as much as others, so we have an important opportunity to do well. We’ll work on being more precise tomorrow and we’ll definitely find more speed.” IKER LECUONA #27 “It was definitely a positive day. The first feeling was good straight away, despite a few too many mistakes on my part. I needed to automate several things and change some habits from SBK: once I managed to do that, I really enjoyed it—it’s a bike with a lot of power. It’s a shame about the afternoon with that yellow flag when we were on a good lap. Little by little I found my style on this bike and in the end, if you enjoy it, you go fast. 4. TOP 8 FOR FERMIN IN ITALY

   FERMIN ALDEGUER #54 "It was a positive weekend. At the beginning of the race today, we were really fast and able to stay with Marc and Pedro’s group. From that battle onwards, I started having some issues with the front tyre. The bike became more difficult to turn, and I had to rely heavily on the rear tyre to make it corner, which caused us to struggle. Physically, we’re feeling good, although I have to say this race was an important test from that point of view. We need to learn how to manage the front tyre better. Without that issue, we could have fought for a stronger result." MICHELE PIRRO #51 "It was an emotional weekend. Racing in Italy with Team Gresini is not something that happens every day, and experiencing these feelings again 14 years later was truly special. I would like to thank Nadia for the opportunity and the entire team for the great work they did. Yesterday’s crash affected me a little in terms of confidence and also mentally—I honestly didn’t want to make any more mistakes. Today the bike was perfect, with excellent balance, and I really enjoyed the race. Perhaps with a slightly better start we could have finished a bit further up the order; our pace was not far off that of the three or four riders ahead of us."

5. ALDEGUER IMMEDIATELY FAST AT MUGELLO. STRAIGHT INTO Q2

   FERMIN ALDEGUER #54 “The important thing was to make it into Q2, with or without feeling on the bike. The positive news is that the feeling was there — we started well right away and already this morning we were able to ride consistently and quickly. This afternoon there were probably a few too many red flags, and maybe we could have finished even further up, but that doesn’t matter much on a Friday. After Barcelona we gained confidence: mentally we are stronger, and every day that passes the physical condition improves a little bit more.” MICHELE PIRRO #51 “We didn’t start badly this morning with a good pace and the 16th fastest time. It’s true that we improved this afternoon, but not as much as we expected. We definitely need to work on engine braking to be more competitive. Tomorrow we can make a really good step forward.”
