  3. Touratech soft luggage system Discovery2

    Posted on

Even more rugged and even more features for practical use - the extensively revised Discovery2 soft luggage system boasts numerous improvements. The system is universally compatible with almost all adventure bikes and offers 50 litres of waterproof storage capacity as well as plenty of space for additional equipment.

With the Discovery soft luggage system, Touratech has struck a chord with many adventure riders. Solo travellers in particular are enthusiastic about the ingenious system. Now Touratech presents the follow-up system Discovery2, which retains the core virtues of its predecessor, but offers even more practical benefits thanks to numerous clever improvements to details.

    Intelligent upgrades in detail

The optimised construction of the Discovery2 makes it even more robust. The new buckles combine maximum strength with optimum handling. Packing is greatly simplified by the newly added valves in the waterproof bags. These allow the air to be pressed out easily to optimise the volume. The additional Molle patches are extremely convenient for flexibly fastening additional equipment to the Discovery2.

Universal fit for numerous motorcycle models

Despite all the innovation, the Touratech developers have taken great care to ensure that the Discovery2 retains the tried and tested features of its predecessor. This means that the soft luggage system can be securely attached to almost any adventure bike without a carrier using just four straps. To do this, the system is placed over the pillion seat and lashed to existing attachment points on the frame and rear frame so that it is secure on the piste. This is where the modified buckles really come into their own. The pre-shaped design of the luggage system ensures that the rear bags fit snugly against the vehicle. The use of a separately available heat protection plate is recommended for high-mounted exhaust systems.

50 plus 15 litres storage capacity

The basic construction consists of a robust nylon fabric. This accommodates a slide-in bag on each side, which is securely fastened with a strap. This provides 25 litres of waterproof storage capacity per side. The slide-in bags are made from the tried and tested Touratech Waterproof material. The new valves allow the air to be pressed out easily after packing.
The two rear pockets offer additional volume of 7.5 litres each and are sealed dust-tight with a roll closure. There is space here for first aid kits, oil bottles, the rain suit or other equipment that you want to access quickly.

    Secure fastening of additional luggage

Bulky items of luggage such as a rack pack, tent or sleeping mat can be securely lashed down with straps on the robust rows of straps in the centre section of the system. Additional Molle patches on the Discovery2 provide even more flexibility. Two large flaps with quick-release fasteners enclose the load and ensure a flutter-free fit. Two mesh pockets on the inside of the flaps can hold maps, a safety waistcoat or other useful small items. The integrated luggage straps are neatly secured with Velcro loops when not in use.

  4. The new Touratech Guardo Ultimate GTX

    Posted on

The Touratech Guardo Ultimate GTX motorcycle glove combines state-of-the-art technologies and sophisticated manufacturing processes to create a concept with outstanding comfort and the highest safety standards.

At Touratech, Ultimate stands for products in the field of rider equipment that maximise what is technically possible in their segment. These include the high-end Compañero Ultimate textile suit and the premium Destino Ultimate GTX boot. Brand new is the Guardo Ultimate GTX, a motorcycle glove that combines a classic full leather construction with advanced Gore Grip technology and a top-level protection concept.
The innovative mix of materials and the technology applied give the Guardo Ultimate GTX, developed together with Rev'it!, the best protection, exceptional tactility and outstanding comfort.

    Advanced textile technologies

The sophisticated interaction of construction and choice of material ensures maximum comfort. External seams prevent unpleasant pressure points on the hand and fingers. A Gore-Tex membrane is responsible for weather protection and thermal regulation. The advanced Gore Grip technology is used, in which the membrane is laminated onto the inner side of the leather. This guarantees an absolutely crease-free fit. In combination with the selected leather, this gives the fingers excellent tactility. This ensures sensitive operation of all controls and switches, which is supported by special grip elements on the fingers and palm. Thanks to the conductive fingertips on the index finger and thumb, capacitive smartphone screens can also be operated.
An elasticated wrist contributes to the excellent fit, while a Velcro fastener allows the glove to be individually fastened without the danger of stripping. Convenient: a pull tab helps you put them on.

    Protection concept for maximum safety

The Touratech Guardo Ultimate GTX features a sophisticated protection concept. The basic protection is provided by the full leather construction. While the base joints of the fingers are protected by a hard-shell protector made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), there are elements made of elastic Temperfoam® over the knuckles, palms and thumbs. The high-quality protectors of the Guardo Ultimate GTX are certified in accordance with level 1 – KP of the EN 13594:2015 standard. Reflective material on the ring finger provides additional passive safety.
In rainy weather, the Touratech Guardo Ultimate GTX not only impresses with its absolute waterproofness, the hydrophobised goatskin also makes it pleasantly light to wear. The effective visor wiper on the index finger ensures a clear view.

With its wide range of functions, outstanding comfort and groundbreaking safety concept, the Touratech Guardo Ultimate GTX is a premium-class touring glove that is just as suitable for demanding adventure trips as it is for leisurely tours.

The Guardo Ultimate GTX is available in eight sizes from XS to 4XL.

  5. Touratech soft luggage for the BMW R 1300 GS

    Posted on

Everyday use, short trips, travelling on holiday - Touratech offers an extensive range of soft luggage for the R 1300 GS. Several product series cover the requirements of a wide range of usage scenarios.

Three customised tank bag models are available for the BMW R 1300 GS. All three tank bags have the tried-and-tested Touratech fastening system with a combination of straps at the front and Velcro on the side facing the rider. This ensures a secure hold as well as easy access to the petrol cap.

The Travel tank bag has a volume of 9 litres. The typical Molle patches are used to attach additional items. The hard-shell lid gives the waterproof product a particularly high level of stability and offers protection for the contents.

If the tour is to take you through demanding off-road sections more often, we recommend the tank bag from the Extreme Edition series. Its rugged material and ultra-robust zips can withstand the stresses and strains of expeditions. This top-class tank bag provides approx. 10 litres of well-protected storage volume.

The product marks the entry into the world of Touratech tank bags for the R 1300 GS is the Touring tank bag. With its clean look, the tank bag can hold 9 litres of luggage - 14 litres when extended. Otherwise, it offers all the features of the tried and tested Touring for the R 1250 GS.
For additional luggage, there are crash bar bags from the Touring range that fit perfectly on the Touratech fairing crash bars for the R 1300 GS. Customers who own a BMW Vario top case can create additional, easily accessible storage capacity with the convenient Touring lid bag. The Touring bag for the Touratech top case rack is particularly clever as it utilises the space under the top case and is easily accessible from the side of the seat.

As an interesting alternative to a rigid pannier system, Touratech offers side bags that can be attached to the Touratech pannier rack. Waterproof side bags are available from the Extreme Edition, Travel and Endurance lines. All three bags are mounted using a docking panel and practical quick-release fastener.

Customers who have configured their GS with the small, sporty carrier that is part of the Trophy's equipment will find the Discovery2 soft luggage system an interesting solution that completely dispenses with a pannier rack. 2 x 25 litres of luggage are stowed waterproof in the optional yellow or black pockets. A further 2 x 7.5 litres can be stored in the integrated pockets with roll closure. The generous provision with Molle patches offers attachment options for additional equipment.

As a practical and elegant addition, Touratech offers customised inner bags for the BMW Vario luggage system, which not only offer optimum utilisation of the storage capacity, but also allow the contents of the case to be transported comfortably when the pannier remains on the motorbike.

Numerous other handlebar bags, seat bags or rack packs from the various product ranges complete the extensive range of Touratech soft luggage for the BMW R 1300 GS.
