  2. MARCO MELANDRI AND SYLVAIN GUINTOLI ARE READY TO INCITE THE ITALIAN FANS.

Noale, 7 May 2013 - The first Italian round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship season is coming up. The factory derivative bikes are getting ready to take on the Imola track, the historic circuit on the banks of the Santerno which has always stirred up the hearts of fans. Its nature as an "old school" track, despite the changes that have been made over recent years, always makes it a particularly demanding circuit for bikes and riders and, consequently, for any gearhead.

For Marco Melandri motivation abounds. After the demanding weekend at Assen the rider from Ravenna is keen to improve his synergy with to find the consistency and speed he'll need to aim for the title. Imola is definitely not an easy track. Experience and focus are required to turn up at the races Sunday in the best possible conditions and Marco has plenty of both.

Marco Melandri: "Imola is my true home round and I really want to do well, so I'll take to the track with a huge desire to battle and to do well. I certainly don't expect things to be easy. There will be a lot of fast riders here, but with the entire team we have put in a lot of hard work and the time is coming to reap the benefits of what we have done so far to improve."

A key player in Holland, where he took a win and just barely missed making it a double, Sylvain Guintoli will take on the Italian round with an eye to confirming his progress. He now lies in second place in the rider standings, just 12 points behind Sykes in the lead, a truly slim gap considering the fact that this is only the fourth round of the season. The podium he took here in 2013 during his rookie year on the Aprilia RSV4 is a nice calling card for the French rider who has recovered from the blow he suffered during Race 2 at Assen.

Sylvain Guintoli: "In Assen we made big progress with the RSV4 and we showed our fighting spirit, it paid off with the win in race1. I want to continue in this way in Imola. Although my back was really painful after the crash in race2, I am now back to full fitness and ready to fight for the win".

  4. Hard to believe that our summer season is about to start, but it is...

Our winter tours in Kerala have made India our most popular winter destination this year, knocking NZ off top spot, and our customer comments have been reassuringly and universally full of praise!

And we're nearly there to kick off this year's US tours, with three very different rides.

First off is a repeat group of 10 riders who are riding our 1-week Canyons Run self-guided tour out of Las Vegas, having previously explored Florida. I hope they will notice the difference and don't miss the cool ocean!

Then we have our first Orange & Black Route 66 Tour of the year, the only Route 66 tour recommended by Harley-Davidson, with star Route 66 guide Gary/Bear at the controls of course (he's worth the tour price on his own!).

Our new bikes will be waiting for us at our city centre hotel so we can ride straight to the start of Route 66, about 10 blocks away, and then out of Chicago. Another first! And further proof that our authorized Harley tours are simply the best. We've always ridden more of Route 66 than anyone else, and we've just added a few more miles to that for 2014, so the best just got better (again)! And if you still haven't decided on what to do this summer, we've still got places available on this iconic ride, so you don't have to miss out! New bikes, small groups, expert guides, full-service support van, recommended by Harley-Davidson, what are you waiting for?

And our last big adventure in May is Mountains & Music, a 2-week self-guided tour we've put together for 28 members of Invicta HOG. I've wanted to run a tour like this for years, and I'm delighted we've finally made it. Starting in Nashville we ride the Devil's Triangle, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Tail of the Dragon, than across to the Misissippi Delta, Memphis and back to Nashville. With its mix of the twistiest roads in America and some great music, people and history along the way this is one great ride .If you think this might be for you, and it really should be, give me a call.

Some 12,000 miles away, our Himalayan High Roads tour kicks into life in June. This was our very first tour in Asia back in 1996, and it is still one of those 'must do' rides for every biker - the highest pass in the World, at over 5600 m. Like Route 66, this is a tour that many have tried to copy, but the knowledge, attitude and attention to detail of our guides really do make it something special. So if the USA or Canada aren't for you, then try this ride on the wild side this year.

With the strengthening pound (how long will it last?!), we're delighted to have been able to bring down our Australia and South Africa prices, and hold our New Zealand and India prices again for 2014/15. So dust down those winter plans to these fabulous destinations and get in touch.

  5. - Extra £1000 trade-in discount towards an 1190 Adventure
    - 1190 Adventure is the most sophisticated travel enduro available
    - Now with MSC ‘cornering ABS’ for 2014
    - Fantastic finance options available

There’s never been a better time to start a new adventure as KTM UK is offering riders an additional £1000 discount when trading in their old machine towards a brand new 1190 Adventure or 1190 Adventure R.

The ‘Adventure Trade-In Promotion’, run in conjunction with a wide range of finance offers, begins with immediate effect at all KTM Street dealers in the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands and is eligible to riders who have owned their planned trade-in bike for six months or more.

In 2013, KTM once again pushed the travel enduro segment to new levels of performance, comfort and technology when it launched a new Adventure generation. Starting with the RC8 R engine and developed from scratch, the 1190 Adventure and Adventure R (both £13,799 on the road) are aimed at riders who want an adventure from every ride but with the added benefit of ultra high-specification components and the most sophisticated electronic rider assistance systems available to motorcyclists to date.

Adventure riders are offered unparalleled levels of personalisation, comfort and safety through the bike’s various ride modes. These include the multi-stage combined antilock braking system C-ABS, the motorcycle traction control (MTC - also multi-staged), the push-of-a-button adjustable electronic damping system (EDS) suspension and the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

For 2014, the 150hp 1190 Adventure and 1190 Adventure R became the world’s first motorcycles to offer an ABS that stays fully functional even while cornering. This becomes possible through the stability control MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) developed in close cooperation with Bosch; controlling the antilock system and traction control while taking real-time dive and yaw angles into account, thereby enabling optimum braking and acceleration while leaned over, to the fullest extent that the dynamic physical limits allow.

A large array of official KTM PowerParts are also available for riders to enhance, tune or simply tailor the specification of a bike to the exact requirements of whatever the adventure that lies ahead.
