Five reasons to say: “Let’s go…to Motorcycle Live!”

An annual trip for thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts across the country, Motorcycle Live in association with Bikesure Insurance, will be opening its doors this November at the NEC, Birmingham.

From 18-26 November, show-goers will be treated to all the latest models, rider and celebrity interviews and the opportunity to get on two wheels for free.

As if that wasn’t enough, here are five reasons why motorcycle fans should book tickets to the UK’s biggest and most interactive motorcycle and scooter show, now…

    Be the first!

Motorcycle Live will be the first UK premiere of many of the brand-new models from manufacturers, so visitors will be the first to get up close to them. With over 45 manufacturers already signed up to the show, there will be a lot to see whether electric or petrol-powered.

    Get on two wheels

There are ‘live’ activities to take part in for all ages. Whether taking to two wheels for the first time, having a go on an electric bike to see what all the ‘buzz’ is about, taking to the dirt in Experience Adventure or heading out onto the road with the Test Ride Zone - the choices are endless. With all the kit provided, visitors don’t even need to  worry about bringing their own protective clothing.

    Meet riding stars

Visitors can meet motorcycle racers, riding celebrities and influencers galore at the show. With live entertainment at the Black Horse stage taking place throughout the day and meet and greets held by manufacturers and exhibitors, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet riding idols.

Lovers of BSB may want to attend on Sunday 19th November for the dedicated day for all things British Superbikes. And Saturday 25th November, the show is also welcoming a whole raft of World Champions for the FIM Champion's Day.

    Fun for all

Whether going alone, with friends or with the whole family, there’s plenty to do for everyone. Motorcycle fans aged four to 12 can enjoy the Arenacross Youth MX experience^, whilst anyone aged 14 and over can participate in the MCIA TryRide zone. Entry for under 5’s is free** and those aged 6-18 are just £2.50**.

Save money by booking in advance

Some people like to be organised, others don’t, but it pays to plan in advance to save some money and get a good deal.

Advanced ticket prices offer show-goers the opportunity to save money – priced at £23* for an adult ticket and children 6-18 just £2.50 when accompanied by a paying adult – under 5’s are free. Group discounts are also available for those looking to buy more than 10 tickets - and members of the group don't have to come on the same day.

Those wishing for an extra deal can select to buy a £28 ticket and collect a Zerofit Thermal Bobble Hat (worth £20) when they arrive at the show!

  3. The British Motor Museum will play host to two fantastic indoor Model shows in October, which will appeal to all the family.

The Large Model Aircraft Show returns on Sunday 22 October, when visitors can see over 100 large static radio controlled model aircraft. Organised by the Large Model Association, this popular family show also has specialist traders selling everything in model aircraft building, from miniature propellers to small jet engines and pre-assembled models, including WW1, WW2, jets and other types of model aircraft.

The Great British Model Railway Show takes place on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October, a dedicated weekend to model trains and featuring over 40 layouts of various scales and up to 30 specialist traders. The event is also one of the biggest model railway shows in the calendar and one of the best in the Midlands.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum, said, “Both Model Shows are hugely popular and enjoyed by so many. The shows are ideal for families who are looking for something a bit different to do with their children. You can admire the range of static models, browse the trade area to find that perfect airplane or train for your collection, and speak to builders about their projects to get some handy tips and advice. You might even find some inspiration for a fresh project of your own!”

The shows also coincide with October Half-Term, so there are plenty of other family friendly activities to enjoy at the same time. The theme is 'Roadmap to the Future' with family trails, tours and science shows exploring the ways that cars are developing as time goes on. The Black Cat Museum Trail and family craft activities are available every day. All are included in the entry fee.

Show tickets cost £14.50 per adult, £9 per child, £12.50 per concession and £40 for a family. All tickets must be pre-booked and include entry to the Museum and the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Collection.

  4. VICTORY MISSED BY JUST THREE TENTHS AFTER A BRILLIANT RACE

THE GAMBLE ON THE "SOFT" DOESN’T PAY OFF FOR ALEIX, STILL IN THE POINTS

He believed, he tried, and he missed by just three tenths of a second after an extraordinary race. This sums up Maverick’s second place in Indonesia, a well-deserved podium after battling with both Martin (who then crashed) and Bagnaia. And, in the finale, contending with Quartararo’s aggressive attacks.

After a good start, Viñales settled in behind Martin, moving into the race lead during the twelfth lap. The narrow gap allowed Bagnaia to catch up and Maverick yielded the top spot to him during the nineteenth lap. When everything seemed to be set in stone, the Aprilia rider came back strong, even making a play for the win (which he missed by just three tenths of a second) under the chequered flag.

Aleix’s gamble choosing the soft rear tyre did not pay off. The compound he was most confident with did not allow him to be incisive after mid-race, after which the goal was simply to make it to the chequered flag without any pointless mistakes. The six points awarded for his tenth place are – in light of the pace demonstrated throughout the weekend – small consolation.

    ALEIX
"Choosing the soft tyre for the rear was undoubtedly a mistake. Unfortunately, during the warm-up session this morning, I did not have a good feeling with the medium, and we decided to take the risk on the starting grid. I expected a drop in performance, but not so soon. Basically, after ten laps, it turned into a race of survival. It’s a pity because being competitive, being able to make a play for the podium in this MotoGP is anything but simple, so squandering chances like this leaves a bitter taste in your mouth."

    MAVERICK
"Today I took advantage of yesterday’s experience. When Martin began to lap fast, I was patient, looking after the tyre. I knew that if I pushed too hard at the beginning, it would create difficulties in the finale. From this point of view, it was not a simple race. When there were just a few laps left, I decided to go all in. I wanted to put the pressure on Pecco and make a play for the win. In any case, it is still a good result and it confirms that when we exploit our technical package well, we can battle with the best."
