... in Tywyn for TT3D: Closer to the Edge

Ride out to the resplendent seaside resort of Tywyn on the west coast of Wales!
Begin your day with a ride through the spectacular wild mountains of Mid and West Wales then enjoy a very special showing of TT3D: Closer to the Edge at the Magic Lantern Cinema.
The cinema is a truly unique and beautiful venue, first opened in 1893 as the town Assembly Room and converted into a cinema in the 1930’s. The present owners have been steadily renovating the venue over the last three years, ensuring that it retains its original charm and Victorian grandeur, whilst installing the most advanced cinema system in Wales.
The recently installed 4K projector  is Sony’s latest machine and combined with the brand new Dolby 7.1 surround sound system and the very best 3D lens available on the market it guarantees an amazing cinema experience.
Cinema co-owner Geoff Hill said “We’re aiming to provide an unforgettable day out for bikers. The film will be played on eight Sundays through the summer months and we’ll be opening the cinema at 1pm so riders can get food and drink in the café-bar area before the film starts at 2.30pm.”
The digital installation is thanks to the fantastic financial support from the Peter Saunders Trust and also from the Gwynedd Enabling Fund which comes from the Rural Development Plan for Wales, 2007-2013 funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union.
Cinema co-owner Mark Bond said “We are incredibly lucky to have this state of the art system here in West Wales, and a fabulous film like ‘TT3D: Closer to the Edge’ is perfect to show off it’s incredible capabilities”.
There is plenty of free off-road parking. Show dates are Sundays 9th and 23rd June, 7th and 21st July, 4th and 18th August and 1st and 8th September. Doors open 1pm. Film starts 2.30pm (Cert 15, running time 104mins). All tickets £6 (MAG members receive £1 discount- £5!)
