“With a strong lap, I finished the day in seventh. We have to admit that the Aprilias have raised the bar here, but we’re not far behind. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is that I was hoping to be in better physical shape, but I struggled a little towards the end of practice. We definitely need to make a step forward in the first sector. This morning we were clearly the fastest in the fourth sector, but this afternoon the others closed the gap.”

“It went better than I expected. We made just a few small changes to Fermin’s bike, and I felt comfortable straight away. It’s true that I hadn’t ridden here for a long time, so I needed some time to get back into the rhythm of the track. On a circuit like this, a mistake in one corner can easily carry over into the next two, three or even four corners… The biggest challenge here is putting together a clean lap without any major mistakes, and today I made a few too many. We definitely have room to improve. We’re not far from Q2, but tomorrow we’ll need to put together a near-perfect lap and probably make the most of a good tow.”
