   The news we would have never wanted to give, and that unfortunately we are forced to share with all of you. After nearly two months battling against Covid, Fausto Gresini has sadly passed away, few days after turning 60.   
   
   All of Gresini Racing are close to Fausto’s family in support: his wife Nadia and the four children Lorenzo, Luca, Alice and Agnese... as well as everyone who had the chance to get to know him and love him throughout the years.

2. UPDATE ON FAUSTO GRESINI’S CONDITIONS

   Slow but continuous improvements on the state of health of Fausto Gresini, always hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Maggiore Carlo Alberto Pizzardi hospital in Bologna.
    
   Here is today’s s statement by Dr Nicola Cilloni: “Fausto's clinical condition slowly continues to improve. For more than a week now without fever, rehabilitation is making progress every day, even if the path ahead is still long. He is still helped by the breathing machine, but he is also working on it, trying to recover the strength to do it alone. He manages to make video calls and to be seen by Nadia. The next steps will be the functional recovery of breathing and nutrition”.

3. UPDATE ON FAUSTO GRESINI’S CONDITIONS

   Minor but comforting news on the state of health of Fausto Gresini, who has been hospitalized for over three weeks at the Maggiore Carlo Alberto Pizzardi hospital in Bologna.
    
   Doctor Nicola Cilloni: “Fausto Gresini's general clinical conditions are fragile, but slowly and progressively improving.He is conscious and combative. Radiological and laboratory tests also go in the same direction. He still needs to be supported by the mechanical ventilator, but blood oxygenation is progressively improving. He started physiotherapy to rehabilitate both breathing and muscles. He remains in critical and fragile condition with a long path of treatment, but the direction taken in recent days makes the prognosis, still reserved, more optimistic.

   Fausto Gresini’s conditions remain serious, as the former motorcycle world champion is still  in the intensive care unit of the Maggiore Carlo Alberto Pizzardi hospital in Bologna. 
   
   Here is today’s s statement by Dr Nicola Cilloni: “Fausto's general conditions are unfortunately still serious. The lungs hit hard by the disease and by an overlapping infection are able to give oxygen to the blood only and aided by the mechanical ventilation machine. It is still necessary to keep Fausto asleep almost always to allow the mechanical fan to work properly. When he is periodically awakened, he is conscious and combative”.

5. From 2022, the MotoGP project is reality

   GRESINI RACING: FROM 2022, THE MOTOGP PROJECT IS REALITY

   As a pleasant confirmation for an institution as solid as historical within MotoGP, from 2022 Gresini Racing will be again in the premier class as Independent team.
   
   The team led by Fausto Gresini, which is already present across all categories of the MotoGP World Championship, is back to its natural spot and will be relying on its own support only. A five-year agreement was signed between Gresini Racing and IRTA (2022-2026), a further proof of the commitment by the Faenza-based team.
   
   Gresini Racing has been present in the premier class since 1997 and therefore is among the longest-lasting teams and one with a very solid tally: 41 podiums, 14 wins and three runner-up spots in the category.

   “We’re happy to announce this agreement with IRTA, which will see us in MotoGP for five years starting from 2022. We will not be representing Aprilia as a factory team anymore, so we will continue as an Independent Team, doing so with as much will and commitment. There’s a lot of work to do and many things to define and communicate. Obviously we’re already working on this huge project, and we will reveal the details little by little. Stay tuned!”
