  1. D3O poised to see supported rider Michael Dunlop make Isle of Man TT history

    The highlight of the road racing calendar, the Isle of Man TT, is due to get underway next week and D3O is eagerly anticipating success for Michael Dunlop. Having supported the Northern Irish road racer since 2017, D3O is his protection of choice for tackling the closed roads of the 37.73mile long Mountain Course at speeds of over 200mph.

    Dunlop has recently competed in the North West 200, which is used by a lot of riders as their pre-TT test, in several categories and successfully tested his bikes on “The Triangle” ahead of the Isle of Man event. Michael enjoyed podium success this year with third place finishes in the Tides Restaurant Supersport race, the Anchor Bar Superbike race, the Amici Ristorante Superstock race, the Fraser Homes Supersport race and the Briggs Equipment Superbike race.

    All focus is now on the 2024 Isle of Man TT where D3O-supported Michael Dunlop could become the most successful TT rider of all time. At the moment the record is 26 wins and is held by Michael’s uncle Joey, while Michael himself has 25 wins to his name. The 35-year old will have eight chances for victory as he will compete in all two-wheel classes (Superbike, Supersport, Superstock and Supertwin), where there are two races per category.

    The partnership between the market leader for impact protection and the TT icon not only benefits Dunlop, who is known for his aggressive riding style and for scraping the walls, but the wider motorcycling community. “I can do nothing to help safety bar surround myself with the best stuff I possibly can. My helmet, my suit, my armour. With D3O you get the best of both worlds – it fits you perfectly, but it also provides the best protection that you can ask for,” said Michael Dunlop. The distinctive orange protectors, that are available through a variety of brand partners, are manufactured with testing and feedback provided by athletes like Michael to help make them the lightest, most comfortable and most protective on the market.

    The 2024 Isle of Man TT races will get underway on Monday 27 May with the first Free Practice and Qualifying sessions, before racing gets underway with the Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 1 on Saturday 1 June.

  2. Dymag announces sponsorship of Peter Hickman for NW200 and IOM TT

    Dymag, a world leader in lightweight wheels for the motorcycle industry, is delighted to announce sponsorship of renowned motorcycle champion, Peter Hickman.

    Peter Hickman needs no introduction when it comes to Road Racing - the fastest rider to ever lap both the Isle of Man TT, Northwest 200 and Ulster Grand Prix circuits.

    After a very successful IOM TT in 2022 with his first Supertwin win on the Paton, “Hicky” is setting his sights on more success in 2023 but this time on new machinery. 2023 will see Peter racing the Yamaha R7 built in-house at his PHR Performance headquarters. Not only will he compete at the TT but also the Northwest 200 road races. The bike has undergone extensive upgrades and improvements with the very best performance parts being added including the very latest Dymag racing wheels.

    Dymag UK has been designing and manufacturing wheels for over 30 years, so to supply "Hicky" with their UP7X wheels for this new project is an ideal partnership. Peter's feedback can only help strengthen the already well-renowned UK brand. To top the partnership off PHR Performance has also become a retailer of the ever-popular aftermarket Dymag wheels.

    Five times TT winner Peter Hickman said: “Dymag plays a key role in the racing world. Its wheels are ultra-light, meaning more performance from the motorcycle and faster changes of direction as well as being stronger than standard wheels, which is a huge benefit especially when racing on the road.

    “Having the opportunity to run my Supertwin using the UP7X wheels is awesome and I’m delighted to be associated with Dymag. Last year I had huge success in the Supertwin races and I want this year to be no different, although I am under no illusions of just how hard it is going to be. It's a brand-new bike and nobody has any real experience with it yet in the UK and on the roads. The bike has been built by my PHR Performance Centre and is a new project for us. The team have done a great job, as we only received the bike recently but the finished bike looks mega, topped off with fantastic-looking wheels!

  4. Tune in to the Virtual TT 2020 - 6th - 12th June 2020

    The Virtual TT powered by Motul, in collaboration with TT Isle of Man, and as part of their TT Lock-In schedule.

    The event will see eight TT racing heroes getting to grips with a new challenge, by tackling the familiar course from the comfort of their own homes via the newly released game, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2. Each professional rider has teamed up with an experienced gamer from around the world to complete one lap of the famous course on the game. The team’s aggregated lap time will be their leaderboard score as they go ‘head-to-head’ with the other teams to decide who will be crowned ‘Virtual TT 2020 Champions’!

  5. David Johnson sets third fastest time in TT Superbike qualifying

    It’s been a disruptive week on the Isle of Man for the 2019 TT races, with just two qualifying sessions going ahead in seven days. The Honda Racing team with Ian Hutchinson and David Johnson have been patiently waiting for the sun to shine and today there was action again around the Mountain course, where Johnson set the third fastest time in the Superbike class, aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2.

    Since last Saturday (25 May) only three sessions have been held, one of them being the Supersport/Lightweight/Newcomer last Sunday. In Tuesday’s first scheduled session Johnson impressed with his pace and was amongst the quickest in the Superbike and Superstock class – a feat the Australian was able to repeat today with a third place in the Superbike qualifying, posting a time of 17:39.206 mins (128.236 mph). Johnson also was quick on the Honda CBR600RR, posting the ninth fastest time in the Supersport class.

    Teammate Hutchinson suffered a crash in Tuesday’s practice session at the 11th Milestone – the 16-time TT winner was left uninjured after the fall. This afternoon ‘Hutchy’ went straight out on the Fireblade in the Superbike class, and ended the qualifying session aboard the CBR600RR strong; setting the sixth fastest time.

    Tomorrow (Monday 3 June) will be the first race day of the 2019 TT races with the RST Superbike Race (4 laps) scheduled to go at 10:45, the Monster Energy Supersport TT Race (4 laps) will follow and is scheduled to go ahead at 18:30 (all times local).
