    Date: Saturday 25 March 2017 | Time: 1pm | Stand: Kawasaki – 492

Holder of six Olympic gold medals, track cyclist and motorcycle-mad Jason Kenny will collect his 2017 Versys 1000 Grand Tourer on the Kawasaki stand at the Manchester Bike Show to add to his collection of ‘green’ machines this weekend.

Richard Gregg from Kawasaki Motors UK and Jonathan Hughes from Bolton Motorcycles will be in attendance to hand over the brand-new 17-plate machine to Jason on stand 492. Olympic Champion, Jason Kenny OBE to collect brand-new Versys 1000 Grand To

Jason Kenny will be available for interviews following the handover.

Jason has had from us now. It’s great that he keeps coming back to Kawasaki as a brand as his needs and wants from his motorcycles change as the Kawasaki range is so vast, it offers plenty of choice. He’s a real petrol-head – just like all of us so it’s always a pleasure when he comes in. We wish him lots of happy miles aboard his new Versys 1000.”

Craig Watson, Kawasaki Motors UK Sales Manager, said: “The Versys range has been updated for 2017 – changes that have made an already fantastic machine, even better. Whether it’s a trip to the Alps or getting to a meeting in central London, the Versys 1000 will be a great companion.”

Priced from £11,799, the new Versys 1000 offers maximum riding enjoyment whether solo or two-up. The responsive in-line four engine and nimble chassis is a recipe for riding fun and, add in the upright riding position, it makes the Versys an ideal city roamer that really comes into its own on twisty roads.

Available in three colour options for 2017, Jason opted for Candy Burnt Orange and Flat Ebony – other options include Candy Lime Green and Metallic Carbon Grey and Metallic Flat Spark Black.

The Grand Tourer options include: accessory 47-litre top case, clean-mount panniers, pannier bags, a tank pad, top case bag, fog lamps, handguards, engine guards and a 12V socket as standard.

For the sixth successful year the number one event in the North of England catering for the motorcycle industry will be back at EventCity, Manchester on Saturday 25th & 26th March 2017. Over the last five years the Manchester Bike Show has doubled in size to a massive 22,000 sq m and with over 1,000 bikes on display is now the biggest and best indoor motorcycle show in the North of England.
In early April 2016 over 16,500 members of the public joined us for our biggest show yet for an unforgettable action filled day out for all the family. Since 2012 we have doubled the floor space occupied by the show, doubled the number of exhibitors, doubled the number of display bikes and doubled the number of visitors. At the time of writing advanced ticket sales have been consistently running at more than double the rate of the 2016 ticket sales.

The stunning fully carpeted Hall 4 will showcase brand new 2017 models from major manufacturers including Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, KTM, Royal Enfield and Benelli. As always there will be exclusive show offers from many of the manufacturers and dealers if you are looking to upgrade your current machine.

Also new for 2017 will be an auction run by The Motorcycle Auction Ltd at noon on both days where you can enter your motorcycle for sale or indeed grab a nearly new bargain.

Hall 3 hosts the Northern Classic Bike Show featuring a stunning display of over 600 modern, race, classic, dirt bike and street fighter machines from clubs and private individuals all competing for Bike of the Show in the Vulcanet Concours. In addition there will be a dedicated racing area organised by the governing body of motorcycle sport in the UK, the ACU. The represents a real chance to get up close to the bikes currently competing in regional, national and world championship race series.

EventCity also delivers an unrivalled retail village with leathers, helmets, accessories, parts, touring companies and services so make sure that you grab a bargain while you are at the show.  Not forgetting to mention a live stage sponsored by Vulcanet with star guests, live music, competitions all compared by our MC Les Clayton. Finally don’t miss the thrilling thrice daily stunt shows provided by the Xtreme Stunt Team.

  5. We hope to see you at the Manchester Bike Show 2017

Since the Manchester Bike Show @ EventCity was launched in 2012 (a new show for the current organiser and not associated with any previous shows held in Manchester city centre) they have more than doubled the floor space occupied by the show, the number of trade exhibitors, the number of participating clubs, the number bikes on display (circa 1,000) and the number of visitors.

When they started the show, the aim was to give the motorcycling community in the North West a major indoor motorcycle show to be proud be part of and attend... and in spring, with the anticipation of a good summer to follow.

Listening to the Motorcycle community, from the shows launch they invited Motorcycle Clubs and private owners to attend, so the Bike show includes motorbikes, rather than just a show with traders!

In April 2016 16,500 motorcycle enthusiasts joined us at our biggest show yet for an unforgettable action packed day out for all the family.
