  2. BMF Show organisers The Mulberry Group have announced that this year’s Tailend show will have some extra features and some very special guests over the weekend.

    “We have supported an epic 4,000 mile coastline ride for Autism throughout the year” said Mulberry’s MD Martin Chick, “and the culmination of this fantastic feat undertaken by Paul Newman, will be a ride into the show on Sunday morning and Paul will be accompanied by our very special guest and NAS supporter, 70’s pop legend -  Alvin Stardust. Alvin will be our headline act on Saturday evening on the main stage and will then ride in with Paul on Sunday morning and spend some time on the NAS stand”

    Also at this year’s Tailend show, a World Stunt competition will run throughout the weekend with over 30 of the World’s top riders competing and organisers are installing temporary grandstand seating to give visitors an even greater view of the unbelievable action.   The show weekend will also be the last chance for people to get their raffle tickets to win the trip of a lifetime with Riders for Health on one of their Experience Africa rides in 2014 – the winning ticket will be drawn at the show on Sunday 15th September.

    The BMF Tailend Show offers a fully packed weekend of entertainment, awesome stunt riding and what promises to be a great end of season party!  – If you have a free weekend over the 13-15 September ride over to Peterborough…..it may well be worth it!

  3. Clocks turned back to the 1960s for a unique day out!

    The brand new Classic TT Paddock Carnival event has something for all the family with a jam-packed schedule of entertainment for people of all ages.

    Starting at midday on Friday 23rd August, the Classic TT Paddock Carnival takes place in the heart of the Classic TT paddock, with free parking available in the Nobles Park Playing fields.

    Amongst the attractions will be a number of displays of exotic racing machines from the past hundred years. With a combined value of many millions of pounds (although some are thought to be priceless), it is undoubtedly the most amazing line up of machinery ever to be assembled at the same time on the Isle of Man.

    The Vintage Motor Cycle Club will also be in attendance, riding into the venue during the day with scores of amazing vintage motorcycles from their 2013 Rally.

    The line up of racing celebrities past and present will match the glittering array of machinery with stars such as Giacomo Agostini, John McGuinness, Phil Read, Mick Grant, Conor Cummins, Michael Dunlop, Freddie Spencer, Kork Ballington, Cameron Donald, Steve Baker and Bruce Anstey just some of the famous faces you can expect to bump into throughout the day.

    As well as classic motorcycles, there will be displays of classic cars and buses, whilst vintage fair ground rides will provide entertainment for younger visitors. Duke Marketing’s 1960s Coco Tent will be open throughout the day along with the Okells Brewery Beer Tent and a large selection of catering outlets.

    A stage is being built at the rear of the Grandstand and will play host to live music from The Manx Jazz Aces and the Nigel Williams Band throughout the day, playing some of the best-known hits from the 1960s. There will also be chat shows on the stage throughout the day with some of leading personalities in attendance hosted and broadcasted live by the Radio TT ‘Classic’ team.

    The ever popular Purple Helmets will perform at 3pm in Pit Lane in front of the main TT Grandstand, whilst star of the film No Limit, George Formby will be performing throughout the day and will have his home built Shuttleworth Snap racing machine with him!

    London’s Ace Café are building ‘The Ace Corner’ in the heart of the paddock, with a display depicting the history of the iconic venue meanwhile Mortons Media Group will hold a stunning exhibition of TT images from the 1960s in their Grandstand retail unit.

    For those looking for a souvenir, Motorsport Merchandise will have a full range of official Classic TT Merchandise on sale, with other retail outlets from the likes of Duke, RST Leathers, Crossan Motorcycles, The Ace Café, Scott Leathers, DH Autos, Red Torpedo and The Joey Dunlop Foundation will be open all day.

    The Classic TT Paddock Carnival will have a 1960s theme throughout the day with 1960s fancy dress encouraged. There will be a competition on the day for the best fancy dress costume judged by non other than 20 times TT winner John McGuinness, with the prize being two VIP Hospitality tickets for the following day's racing.

  4. IT is THE place to be for a weekend of motorcycle sights, engine sounds and petrol smells, and once again one of the UK’s largest and most popular bike shows is gearing up for action as it prepares to celebrate a significant landmark.

    The Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show will take place this coming October 19-20, and tens of thousands of visitors are set to descend on Stafford County Showground for the 20th running of this massive event.

    Show manager Nick Mowbray commented: “Now moving into its third decade, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show grows in popularity every year and with a jam-packed weekend in prospect, we are sure that 2013 is going to prove to be as big a hit as always.”

    As the culmination of the Classic Bike Shows’ calendar, the event will see the seven Best in Show winners from throughout the year come together to determine which can be called the best of the best.

    And, with more than 70 club stands and dozens of private entries, thousands of bikes will be showcased with focus on the machines of the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

    To further celebrate this era, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show will welcome French racing legend, and 1984 250cc world champion, Christian Sarron as its special guest of honour.

    2013 will also mark a first for the event, with gravity-defying stuntman Steve Colley wowing the crowds in the main ring.

    “This is the first time we have utilised the main ring at the showground for an attraction such as this,” added Nick.

    “The seating there has recently undergone extensive refurbishment, and it will provide a fantastic location for a simply stunning display.”

    As well as this superb entertainment, the show will feature its renowned array of autojumble and trade stands, the Classic Racer Grand Prix Paddock and the ever-popular Bonhams auction.

    Nick, explaining that 2013 will see Yamaha mark the anniversary of the FS1E, continued: “You literally will not be able to move without coming across a memorable machine from days gone by.

    “In a special year for this era of motorcycling, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show is going to be a weekend of celebration for the biker who began on a ‘fizzy’”.

    The show takes place on Saturday, October 19 (9am – 6pm) and Sunday, October 20 (9am – 5pm), with advance one-day tickets costing £10 for adults, £3 for children and £9 for senior citizens.
