  2. GOODBYE FOR NOW

    Yesterday’s race marked the end of a decade-long involvement in the Moto3 class for Gresini Racing, one marked by challenges, success and dreams come true. Ten years in which the team led by Fausto Gresini was able to achieve some incredible results:

    🏆  World Championship title with Jorge Martin in 2018;
    🏆  Team World Championship Title with Jorge Martin and Fabio Di Giannantonio (runner-up) in 2018;
    🏆  1 rookie of the year with Jeremy Alcoba in 2020;
    🥇 12 race wins (8 by Jorge Martin plus two each by Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio);
    🥈 17 second-place finishes (7 by Enea Bastianini, 5 by Fabio Di Giannantonio, 4 by Jorge Martin e 1  by Jeremy Alcoba);
    🥉 22 third-place finishes (7 by Jorge Martin, 6 each by Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, 2 by Jeremy Alcoba and 1 by Gabriel Rodrigo);
    🕒  32 pole positions (20 by Jorge Martin, 7 by Enea Bastianini, 6 by Fabio Di Giannantonio, 3 by Gabriel Rodrigo, 1 each by Jeremy Alcoba and Niccolò Antonelli);
    🅿️  A total of 2085 points

    LUCA GRESINI – Moto2&Moto3 Team Manager  Gresini Racing
    “First of all, I’d like to say that it has been a very tough decision for the whole Gresini Racing. For Fausto and us this class has always been extremely important, but the MotoGP project required a huge effort from all of us and we chose to prioritise that in order to do it the best way possible. We will still be in Moto2 and MotoE, and I’m sure this is only a goodbye to a class where Gresini Racing has made history.”

    JORGE MARTIN – 2018 Moto3 World Champion

    “Thanks to Fausto and Gresini Racing, my time in Moto3 was an incredible journey: we had a competitive bike, an extremely tight team and together we achieved so much… How can I forget that 4th of November 2018… So much happened that year, not only positive things, but we were able to overcome any challenge and clinch the title. Fausto was a mentor for me and thanks to him many young riders like me were able to make their dreams come true. All I can say is thank you.”

    FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO – 2018 Moto3 World Championship runner-up
    “I owe everything to Team Gresini and Fausto: he brought me to Moto3, Moto3 and in a few days I will get the chance to begin my MotoGP journey… Moto3 was key for my career and so far is where we got our best results: I battled for the title in 2018 and was often in contention for podiums and wins. I only have good memories of that category, the best of which is obviously my first win at Brno.”

    ENEA BASTIANINI – Primo podio e prima vittoria Moto3
    “Everything was born in Moto3 and the first year was something incredible: I have so many memories, good and bad, but especially the three podium finishes I’ll never forget. In the following years we came very close to winning the title, and that win at Misano was amazing… It has been a wonderful period of my life and now, to make my return with Gresini, is something unique – even though it will be without Fausto. These years  with Gresini in Moto3 have been fantastic and I’m sorry they will be leaving the category, but we’re back together in MotoGP so I have many reasons to smile.”

    JEREMY ALCOBA - 2020 Rookie of the Year
    “I owe everything to Team Gresini because it was Fausto the first who had faith in me going from the CEV to the Moto3 World Championship, which was a dream back them. I landed in the World Championship title-holding team and that was a privilege. I had some doubts as it was an Italian team so quite different to what I was used to, but I felt at home straight away with the whole team and with Fausto. He has been a great boss, but especially a great guy and I must say that with Nadia the relationship grew even stronger, and I can’t be but honoured. It’s a shame that Gresini is leaving Moto3, as it has been an iconic team in the class.”

  4. ALEIX IN THE TOP TEN YET AGAIN, FINISHING OUT A GOOD SEASON WITH 120 POINTS (MORE THAN DOUBLE COMPARED WITH 2020) AND EIGHTH PLACE OVERALL

    UPHILL RACE FOR MAVERICK WHO DIDN'T FIND HIS PACE UNTIL THE FINALE. HOWEVER, THE EXPERIENCE GAINED ON THE RS-GP IN 2021 IS A FOUNDATION TO BUILD ON FOR NEXT SEASON

    On a weekend that will be remembered as Valentino Rossi’s last one in MotoGP, Aprilia Racing also pays tribute to a great champion, happy and proud to have played a part in his story. Rossi took his first and unforgettable world titles astride the RS 125 and RS 250, paving the way for an inimitable career. Two pearls in Aprilia’s extensive trophy case.

    For the brand from Noale, this was also the race that marked the end of collaboration with Team Gresini. These have been seven years of growth, culminating in the results of this great season. Goals, milestones, difficulties, joy and a lot of hard work done together characterised these seasons. Now that we are parting ways, all of us at Aprilia Racing extend our thanks and most heartfelt thoughts, in memory of Fausto, to the entire team that has accompanied us to this point.

    In the race, after a good start and first half battling for fifth and sixth place, Aleix had to reckon with a drop in tyre grip, but he defended ninth position to the end. This umpteenth top-ten finish means that Espargaró ends the championship season in eighth place. The 120 points earned, an impressive 78 more than last season, are a clear testament to his growth and that of the RS-GP in a season that peaked with the first podium, taken in Silverstone.

    Until the final part of the race, Viñales was unable to find the good pace he had demonstrated that he was able to maintain yesterday. It proved to be too late to move up any positions, despite closing the gap with the riders ahead of him, but the Valencia weekend also added to his experience on the RS-GP. This knowledge will now serve as the foundation on which to build his 2022 season, starting with the upcoming tests where Aprilia Racing will be busy on the Jerez track this Thursday and Friday.

    ALEIX ESPARGARO'
    "At the beginning, when the tyre had grip, I felt good and made up quite a few positions. However, doing that took its toll on the tyres and they paid the price in the finale. "The RS-GP gets harder to ride with low trip, so in the end I had to settle for a result which still gives me a good season finish. This is my best season with Aprilia. We finished ahead of riders who are extremely worthy adversaries and we know that we can do even better. This is our mindset as we prepare for 2022."

    MAVERICK VIÑALES
    "The race today was in line with what we have demonstrated during this final part of the season. I'm able to be fast with Aprilia, doing good lap times, but I'm lacking the right feeling to be consistent throughout an entire weekend. We still achieved our goal, which was to get ready for 2022, identifying the areas we need to work on. We have an extremely clear idea as to what they are and that is what I'm most pleased about, because during the winter, the engineers will be able to use this data and the experience accumulated to make the new RS-GP more suited to my needs."

  5. It is with deep regret that we must announce the closing of Jacks Hill Cafe with immediate effect.
    Whilst we have worked relentlessly to steer the Business through Road Closures, the Pandemic, erratic food supplies and Utilities price increases, both the financial impact coupled with staff shortages has left us with no option but to close.

    The truck park will stay open, providing secure overnight parking and toilet/shower facilities, sadly no food will be available on site. However there are local takeaway’s etc that deliver to site. And less than 10 minutes to Aldi and Tesco in Towcester.

    May we take this opportunity to thank the staff who have supported us throughout, also the customers both regular and passing trade and wish all of you good health for the future.

    Regards
    Jacks Hill Cafe
