Bike 1066 Spring Opener – The Hastings May Day Run

For over 35 years thousands of bikers have visited Hastings every May Day Bank Holiday Monday and now Bike1066 is part of that tradition. In 2013 bike1066 Spring Opener became as big as the world famous Isle of Man TT Races. 32,000 bikes attended bike1066 in one day while an estimated 34,000 attended the Isle of Man TT.

The National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) invite you to their premier annual fundraising event. 

The YBN26 rally will feature; 20 + Live Bands in three marquees, 3 discos, Stand-up Comedy Show, Magician, Bike/Trike Show by 100% Biker magazine, big raffle, entertainment & rides for kids, cheap beer (3 x Bars - including ‘Real Ale’ bar featuring a range of 60 beers and ciders), hot showers, loads of trade stands and lots of other good stuff.

You don't have to be an NABD member or a disabled biker to attend this superb event!  The new rally site has hard-standing on two sides so it should not be as vulnerable to being churned-up in wet weather as the old Astle Park site was.

The Travel event offers an insight into the world of adventure motorcycling with a weekend full of ride-outs, insightful workshops, food and beer, plus much more. A new and exciting addition to this year’s travel event will be the Touratech Rally, a roadbook rally around some of the best roads Wales has to offer with timed stages on the iconic Walters arena.

The weekend will commence on the afternoon of Friday 6th May with a welcoming reception from 5pm, giving you all a chance to meet likeminded riders or catch up with old friends and make new ones along the way. Camping, food and drink available.

Calling all motoring enthusiasts! On the first Sunday of each month* we are running a breakfast club open to all marques. As well as meeting other vehicle owners, participants can chat over a coffee and a hearty breakfast (from a full English to a bacon roll) in Cafe 750. The Despatch Rally event aims to bring together the motorcycling community to celebrate and honour the Despatch riders from whom motorcycle culture descended. The day will consist of themed destinations and challenges throughout Dorset. Rider challenges will include shooting, motorcycle control and navigation skills. Points will be allocated to each activity and prizes presented at the event finale. The Finale will boast live music, BBQ and drinks for all.

Emergency First Aid for Motorcyclists Course

During this one day course the rider will learn how to treat themselves if needed and give first aid assistance to a fellow rider or pillion if required.

The Emergency First Aid for Motorcyclist (EFAM) course (Version 2 launched in January 2017) has been amended to reflect the ongoing issues that riders face in this high risk environment. This new course covers practical exercises including scene management in depth, AED awareness, how to deal with catastrophic bleeding and the introduction in using tourniquets and haemostatic agents. 

Other skills include how to deal with suspected spinal injuries and helmet removal. This course will give you the skills and confidence to help someone in an emergency and learn how to a save life.

As a Rider, you experience the enjoyment and freedom that comes with riding a motorbike and thinking about giving life saving medical treatment to a fallen Biker is probably not the first thing that springs to mind when you pass your test. However it is a sad fact that for many of us that ride the roads of the UK, Europe and beyond at some time we will come across a fellow Biker who has had some sort of accident. Tragically many Bikers have lost their lives after medical assistance has been late in being administered, so by being able to offer the basic vital first steps of treatment you really could save a life!

They teach this course locally and nationally, so if there is a group of riders that would like to be trained in motorcycle first aid then get in touch.

Sam Childers: The Real Machine Gun Preacher - Speaking about his work Rescuing Children in War Torn Africa.

The real Machine Gun Preacher - Sam Childers (not the Hollywood star Gerard Butler) is coming to Hayling Island to share his story and his journey with you about his mission and his work rescuing vulnerable children. 

This is the journey that took him to Sudan to rescue child soldiers from rebel armies. To date he has rescued over 1,500 children and as a result of his selfless work in 2013 he received the Mother Teresa Award for International Social Justice (the largest award of its type in the world for International Social Justice), and to date he is the only American ever to be bestowed with that honour. This is the same honour that the Dalai Lama and UK House of Lords rep, Baroness Caroline Cox were also bestowed with in previous years.

Rugby town centre will echo to the sound of motorbikes and music, as the ‘Rugby BikeFest’ rides into town! This free family festival will include a ‘ride-in’, displays of vintage and modern bikes, stalls, children’s activities, music and food. Organised by local motorcycle groups, clubs and organisations, in conjunction with Rugby First.

The Lee Rigby Memorial Ride

The fusilier drummers will play as we set of riding through Rochdale, Heywood and then to Middleton for a service. Opening speech by the Lord Mayor of Rochdale and the Royal Regiment of fusilier drummers will play. Then onto the Gardeners Arms for entertainment, food, hog roast, bbq and more.

Haynes Bikers Breakfast Ride-in 

Calling all biking enthusiasts! On the third Sunday of each month we are running a breakfast ride-in open to all marques. As well as meeting other bikers, participants can chat over a coffee and a hearty breakfast (from a full English to a bacon roll) in Cafe 750. The very popular Museum cafe will be open from 9am. Please do come and join us for a likeminded get-together.

These events are free to attend and are a real opportunity for vehicle owners to show off their prized possessions at the front of the prestigious Museum.

Blondied Live on the Isle of Wight

Without doubt the most successful and accurate Blondie tribute in the UK led by Michelle Hendriks who Blondie's own legend Chris Stein described as looking and sounding more like Deborah Harry than Deborah Harry. They come and perform on the Isle of Wight for the first time ever at the biker friendly 300 capacity Coburgs Music Venue which has an outdoor area and great bar.
