A great base to savour the beautiful scenery and Austrian villages; Lake Wolfgang is just 15 minutes away, with the villages of Strobl, St Gilgen and St Wolfgang on its shores. Also nearby is the very picturesque village of Hallstatt, famous for its 4,000 year long history of salt mining, and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Just that little bit further away, is Salzburg, the home of Mozart. The city is alive with fine music, museums, cathedrals and gardens and you can even take the 'Sound of Music' tour to visit the sites used in the film.
