    Posted on

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the cafe, having originally opened in 1938, Ace Cafe London will form an integral part of the 3rd annual Mulafest, held from Thursday 27th - Sunday 30th June at Feria de Madrid, Spain.

This unique four-day "urban trends" festival and event, brings together an array of apparently diverse interests, from bikes and workshops, to music, art and tattoo, all of which combine to produce an exciting and exhilarating mix of retro and the avant garde!

The Ace Cafe London "Ace Corner" stand, display and presence will showcase and feature two legendary and iconic classic British motorcycles, a Brough Superior, known as the Rolls Royce of motorcycles, and a Triton, favourite of the Ton Up Boys and Rockers of the 1950's and 60's.

In addition to the Ace Cafe, Rockers and StoMoCo items, and along with products from the Isle of Man TT "Red Rider" supporters, Red Torpedo, "Gear with Grit" will be available together with a limited selection from the authentic and original Sailor Jerry clothing range.

Debuting with Ace at Mulafest, will be the critically acclaimed seminal book "Ace Times - Speed thrills and tea spills, a cafe and a culture" by author Mick Duckworth and the all new Ace 75th anniversary CD album, "Ace Cafe The Rock n' Roll Years 1956-62", featuring 28 British and American recordings released in the UK in those legendary years on single, EP and LP - the tracks are rebellious, wild and frantic!

  3. Brough Shakes The Salt & The Sand with Ace Cafe London!

    Posted on

Ace Cafe London is thrilled and privileged to once again be able to confirm being part of, and supporting, the Brough Superior Team heading out to break and reset land speed records in multiple classes, in August, on the famous Bonneville Salt Flats, USA, with two motorcycles, a "Retro" and a "Pendine", based on the iconic 1927 SS100, a machine sharing heritage and fame with Col. T.E. Lawrence - "Lawrence of Arabia".

Brough Shakes The Salt & The Sand with Ace Cafe LondonBrough were on the salt previously in 1949 with a streamlined machine ridden and crashed by Noel Pope - he vowed to "never ride a streamline again", and on returning to Bonneville in 2011 the new, unstreamlined, Brough Superior SS100 Retro, with a specially tuned J.A.P. V-Twin engine, running on "pump" fuel, clocked two runs, at 127 & 122 mph respectively, giving a mean average speed of 124.98mph and breaking the MA 1350-A-VG speed record!

The 2013 Brough Superior Team, much larger than in previous years, includes riders Eric Patterson, Alan Cathcart and Henry Cole, all flying the flag for England!

In addition, over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd June, the Brough Superior Team, together with Ace Cafe London and support crew, will be racing on Pendine Sands, Wales, the historic home of land speed racing in the UK and where, in 1928, a specially prepared SS100, built and ridden by George Brough, came first and subsequently gave rise to a limited number of very fast, and now very rare, high performance "Pendine Racers" being produced at the Nottingham factory.

An SS100 Pendine Racer is currently on display at the Ace, courtesy of Mark Upham, CEO of Brough Superior Motorcycles Ltd, who confirms that Brough, made in England, looks forward to racing and to setting new records at both Pendine and Bonneville.

  4. Commercial and Strategic Partnership with Ace Cafe London

    Posted on

The Isle of Man Government Department of Economic Development has announced a strategic partnership with the Ace Cafe London that will see the two organisations create a series of commercial, marketing and promotional initiatives around both the TT Races and the new Classic TT Races.

The TT Races are widely acknowledged as one of the world's leading motorsport events while Ace Cafe London, since its inception in 1938, has developed into an internationally licensed brand, with outlets and representatives in USA, Germany, Finland, Japan and, most recently, China.

As part of the partnership, Ace Cafe London will recreate the iconic venue in the Classic TT paddock by offering customers the same menu that can be found in the North West London venue. It will also be decorated with instantly recognisable memorabilia and is expected to quickly become a popular meeting point for bike fans.

The Ace crew will also be taking over the VIP Hospitality facility at the heart of the paddock on Saturday 24th August for the 'Ace Cafe Classic TT Party' that will feature bands playing instantly recognisable rock and roll tracks from the fifties and sixties.

A range of premium merchandise, featuring both the Classic TT and instantly recognisable Ace Cafe 'Clubs' insignia is being produced and will be available at this year's Classic TT meeting at the end of August.

To celebrate the partnership, legendary TT Racer Philip McCallen, who famously made history by winning four races in a week in 1996, will lead an exclusive group of fans in a ride out from the Ace Cafe in London to the Isle of Man Classic TT Races in August.

The 'Ace to Race' package, priced at £2000 plus VAT includes the Classic TT Paddock Carnival on Friday 23rd August, VIP Hospitality for both Classic TT Race Days and a ticket to the Ace Cafe Party on Saturday night and the TT Heroes Dinner on Sunday evening. It also includes five nights accommodation at the four star Claremont hotel on Douglas promenade and return sailings on The Steam Packet from Liverpool. The package is limited to just 8 places.

The partnership will also see the TT and Classic TT promoted globally as part of the Ace Cafe’s event programme at trade shows and other motorcycle events.
