 Located in the market town of Hawes, Upper Wensleydale, in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and perfect for a short relaxing break or as a base for exploring the many attractions within the National Park. Five recently renovated en-suite rooms, with oak beamed ceilings. The dining room has been completely refurbished and has been turned into a snug, with a low oak beam ceiling, victorian fireplace and open fire. Owner Ray, aims that you feel at home at the Board with no set time for breakfast - He will do it for a time that suits you! Hawes is famous for producing Wensleydale Cheese and has many, pubs and cafes, including the poplar Biker cafe; Penny Garth Café, as well alternative art and craft shops. A previous guest said "Thank you to ALL the staff at The Old Board Inn for making my first experience of the Yorkshire Dales so memorable. My stay surpassed all expectations and the food was excellent. In particular, I should like to thank the Landlord for making me feel so welcome and for his much appreciated attentiveness. This former 18th century farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales is now a well-established pub, hotel and restaurant offering the well-known and traditional Yorkshire hospitality to all who visit. Current owners, the Stevens family, (Bikers themselves) have run the Wyvill Arms for over 10 years. With several very individual en-suite bedrooms, spacious and tastefully furnished and well-equipped with everything that the discerning guest might require. There are two bars, both with welcoming log fires and a full range of food, from bar snacks to restaurant-style dishes using local produce for the majority of the menu. Outdoor seating at the rear of the pub gives magnificent views out over the Yorkshire Dales. Places of interest include Constable Burton Hall Gardens, Black Sheep Brewery, The Forbidden Corner - described as the Strangest Place in the world! The market town of Leyburn is close by and it is a great ride on the A684 to Hawes, a popular meeting place for Bikers. Secure parking.

The café was first established in the early 1950’s and was then a cafe in the village, known to many bikers as Sherburn cafe or the Squires Milk Bar. In 2002 it relocated to a large public house, with lots of land for events and camping, on a popular road with Bikers, the B1222. With an unique motorcycling heritage, nostalgia and atmosphere, live music, extensive menu and is especially famous for its' pasties and milky coffee! Bikers are welcome to pitch their tents here; camping is free with just a £2 charge for using the showers in the outside toilet and shower block. New camping pitches where built for 2009, with water taps and hook-ups for campers. The café accommodates regular motorcycle and motorcar club meetings during the year, along with many other events including: charity runs, fund raisers, best bike competitions, shows and live concerts. An ideal touring base for the beautiful Yorkshire Countryside.
